VEGETATIVE BARRIERS

On October 5th, in celebration of Clean Air Day, Tree Fresno hosted a planting on the campus of Fresno State (65 trees) and launched an information campaign on the Fresno TREES Project, a Supplemental Environmental Project, funded through the California Air Resources Board. In short: Tree Fresno has planted five vegetative barriers in Fresno County as part of a California Air Resources Board Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP), called Fresno TREES. The project is designed to reduce pollution from busy roadways.

The next step in the Fresno TREES public information campaign was to hold a public information meeting, which occurred:  “Tuesday night, November 1, Tree Fresno (Mona) and Sonoma Technology (Steve Brown) held a community meeting on the Fresno TREES Vegetative Barrier Project, a Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) funded through the California Air Resources Board – CARB. Many thanks to Central California Environmental Justice Network – CCEJN, Advance Peace Fresno, Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce, Fresno Unified School District, Fresno State Earth and Environmental Sciences Department and all the community members, for coming out to join this discussion!” Please refer to the Tree Fresno Facebook page for photos of the event.
