TRIBUTE TREES
PROGRAM:
Tree
Fresno has two programs whereby donations can
be made to honor or remember someone. |
 |
Tribute Tree Plantings and Donations
For a donation of $250, a tree will be planted
at a local park, and family and friends may take
part in the planting. Examples of parks where
trees have been planted are Woodward Park in northeast
Fresno, Roeding Park in central Fresno, Calwa
Park in southeast Fresno, and Cottonwood Park
in Clovis. Upon receiving a donation, the Tree
Fresno staff will send a letter to the family
of the deceased or to the person who is being
honored, acknowledging the donation and inviting
them to the planting. A metal tag with the deceased's
or honoree's information will be securely attached
to the tree and a certificate suitable for framing
will be presented to the deceased's family or
the honoree. |
 |
Donations in memory or in honor of someone can
be made in any amount. A card will be sent to
the appropriate parties, and the donation will
be used in our on-going tree-planting programs.

| TREES FOR CAMPUSES AND KIDS (Down
Load App) |
 |
Our
Trees for Campuses and Kids (TC&K) program
has provided over 4,100 trees to school campuses
throughout Fresno County. |
 |
Schools
are sent grant applications requiring a very brief
and simple response, and up to forty schools receive
five trees each year, to the delight of the administrators
and children on each campus. |
 |
On
"planting day", there is a tree-planting
demonstration and a brief educational presentation
- most of the children participate in the planting
and sing songs, give the trees "names"
and often have a variety of other entertaining
activities. |
 |
This
is made possible with generous funding from Kaiser Permanente, PG&E and the Fresno Metro Flood Control District. |
